Valgard was one of the Vanir on Terminus. He challenged the leadership of Eirak, who agreed to step down if Valgard would bring the Fifth Doctor back from the Forbidden Zone, which he eventually did. He and the other Vanir were freed when Nyssa offered to synthesize Hydromel for them. (DW: Terminus)
