Prime Directive referred to a computer or robot's main fuction. It was usually programmed, or intended, that the machine didn't deviate from its Prime Directive.

It was willing and had planned to turn humans into slaves to achieve this goal (DW: The Green Death) while the Experimental Prototype Robot K1's Prime Directive was to serve humanity and never harm it, which it unintentionally violated when it killed its creater.
