- The Doctor and Captain Jack save Rose from the Daleks only to meet the Emperor of the Daleks who also survived the Time War. Sending Rose back to her own time, the Doctor must decide whether to destroy the Daleks at the cost of humanity or let them take over Earth. But there's another surprise in store - one that will change him forever!

- The original story outline, 'The Long Game' was set in the year 8922.
