French was a language that originated in France. Mickey Smith was surprised to find that the TARDIS's translation circuit also translated French. (DW: The Girl in the Fireplace) "Allons-y", a catchphrase of the Tenth Doctor, was French for "let's go!" (DW: Midnight)
