Mrs. Martin was a colonist in the human settlement on the planet Uxarieus and the wife of Martin.

When the problems plaguing the colony came to a head in March 2472 and the issue was to either stay or leave, Mrs. Martin voted to stay and overcome their difficulties; she believed they would be worse off if they returned to Earth. She had utterly deplored life back on Earth, saying that life there had become profoundly unnatural, with little room left, polluted air, and a government that was becoming increasing oppressive.
