Apart from intended use in terraforming Alfava Metraxis, could the presence of the trees in the forest on the Byzantium hide spoors of the Vashta Nerada ? Since Moffat seems to like bringing popular and scary back from his previous stories, and they were in Forest of the Dead.... Could they somehow be used to nullify the angels when not in stone form? Could they be what wiped out the Aplan rather than the angels? And, since they cannot talk, can they be 'the silent menace'? Any thoughts? 86.26.137.154 09:28, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
The forest was there as an oxygen generator, not for terraforming. The logic would be a forest once planted would look after itself where using a mechanical device there is always a good chance of it breaking done on a long voyage. 196.216.59.2 21:13, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
