Ben McGill was a young boy of the Dustville colony at the final frontier (aka Arkansas XVl Colony Base One). When the Tenth Doctor arrived at high noon and was in danger from the bandits, he defied the other settlers to warn the Doctor to hide. It was Ben whom the Doctor stayed with overnight before tracking the bandits into the Wastes the next day. It iwas Ben whom the Doctor allowed to use the sonic screwdriver with the TARDIS to create a localised atmospheric excitation.
