Artemis was a Chronovore captured by Mortimus. Mortimus used the innate power of the Chronovore to create an alternate universe in which the Third Doctor was killed by the Silurian Morka. He used its power to engineer the resurrection of the Garvond, the empowerment of Huitzilin, and the restoration of the Land of Fiction. He also used its power to release the Vardans from their time loop. Artemis was imprisoned within his TARDIS and released by Ace. It departed Earth in 1976 in Mortimus' TARDIS with the aim of torturing him for keeping it prisoner. (NA: No Future)
