Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.
the Doctor not The Doctor
Please could you leave the "the" of the Doctor in lower case please, the only time it should be capitalised is at the start of a sentence, thanks. Revanvolatrelundar 19:02, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
Deletion of File:Thumbnail.jpg
Hiya :) I wanted to take a moment to explain why I had to delete the above-named file, which you had attempted to place on The Aztecs. Except for very special cases, pictures must be a minimum of 292 px (that is to say, the standard width of a sidebar advertisement), so that they can be used in all situations on the wiki. Your picture was far too small for that purpose — so small that the people were indistinct. Also, pictures shouldn't be named after elements within CSS (that is to say, the wiki's underlying programming language). A thumbnail is a specific thing, and thumbnail.jpg should only be used on a file which is illustrating what a thumbnail is.
I think what you were trying to do was to create a thumbnail. That's done by taking a picture that's bigger than 292px and using this markup:

Please feel free to resubmit that image at a different, larger size and under a different file name, preferably one that describes the content of the image.

More pic deletions
Hi, again :) I really hate to keep deleting your contributions, because it's clear you're trying to give us improvements that the wiki really needs — namely photos for The Aztecs. Thing is, though, we really need our pics to meet certain minimum requirements. Again, pics should be preferably no smaller than 292 px, and absolutely no smaller than 250px, wide. Also, the gif format, while not strictly disallowed, isn't preferred because it's so inflexible. Please try saving in the .jpg or .png formats for maximum utility.
With these latest two pics, I've also noted some issues with placement on the page, and I thought I'd talk about those, too, now. If you're on a page about an individual, like Tonila, and the infobox doesn't yet have a picture, please put your picture in the infobox by entering the filename next to the variable that says, image =. If you're putting the picture within the body of an article, please don't introduce additional spaces. For instance, you had put:
Barbara responds to this demand of Tlotoxl's . . .
Instead, please type:
Barbara responds to this demand of Tlotoxl's ...
Seriously, I'm not stalkin' ya or trying to get on your case. We absolutely do want you editing here. We just need you to slightly change some of your settings on your image-editing software. If you need help figuring out how to do that, please get in touch by clicking on the little phone icon after my name. :)

No HTML in the body of articles
I have recently audited your editing history and discovered that you are doing a lot of unseen and doubtless unintentional damage to the wiki. Please do not use HTML directly in the main article namespace — such as you have done, for instance in this revision of The Crusade#The Lion (1). Using HTML in normal article space can disrupt overall CSS styling and make automated maintenance more difficult. Please acknowledge, on my user talk page, that you have read and understood this message. Feel free to ask questions while you're there.
