Madge Arwell was the mother of Cyril and Lily Arwell and became a brief companion of the Eleventh Doctor. Her husband was Reg Arwell, a fighter pilot during the second world war. her future actions to save herself and her children caused Reg's original disappearence but in the same moment, he was returned safe and well due to the strength of Madge.
