Mr Richards was a musician in his younger days. As an elderly patient at a hospital in Leeds in 2011, he was a deaf old man. Fortunatel,y when the Eleventh Doctor had caused a Harmonelid to escape from a young boys ear (Danny), the Harmonelid settled in Mr Richards ear .
