This topic might have a better name.

Is the "The" actually an official part of its name?

Talk about it here.

The Thrasymachus was a Galaxy Class luxury liner of the 44th century that Amy Pond and Rory Williams honeymooned on. It boasted a replica of an Earth tropical resort, Neo-Latin dance lessons, organised space walks, a fun park for young children, a honeymoon suite with a package tour to nearby moons, fine dining by the famed TV star Gourmandroid X7, and McClintock burger outlets and a 1953-style fast food bar. Their brochure boasted that you could "tear up your Space War II ration book" on the Thrasymachus. (REF: The Brilliant Book 2012)

As the ship entered the cloud belt of an unnamed planet it was at risk of crashing and Kazran Sardick was prepared to let it do so. However the Eleventh Doctor convinced him to allow the ship to land on the planet and Amy, Rory and the rest of the crew and passengers were saved. (DW: A Christmas Carol)
