The resulting decade-long occupation was ended by the First Doctor and his companions Susan, Ian Chesterton, and Barbara Wright. So engaged was Susan with the fight to rid the planet of Daleks that she left behind her life aboard her grandfather's TARDIS, and decided to call this century her home, marrying David Campbell.
