Ultrasonic sound was sound at a frequency higher than human hearing. Other species could hear it, including Skarasens (DW: Terror of the Zygons), Mandrels (DW: Nightmare of Eden), Shrivenzales (DW: The Ribos Operation), Gorrillazons (DWBIT: Carnage Zoo), the Apatosaurus-like creatures of Spekra (TVC: Prisoners of Gritog) and the dinosaur-like creatures of Quorus (Doctor Who Fights Masterplan "Q").
