Erasmus Darkening bears striking resemblence to Time Lord President Borussa from The Five Doctors. Both craved power and immortality. Though Borussa was trapped in stone by Rassilon, it may be that he found a way to escape the trap with help of his inside men. Borussa may have been fortunate to be granted exile to Earth like the Doctor and lived a life hidden away, then making himself known as an alchemist, infiltrated the home of Lord Marchwood, until the 21st century and where Sarah Jane Smith and her team defeats his Eternity Trap, once and for all. |
