Ryan Carnes is an American actor, born in Pittsfield, Illinois, on December 6th, 1982. Despite playing gay characters, Carnes has stated in interviews that he is not gay.
Early Life
Ryan attended Duke University where he was a member of the Duke University Marching Band.
Career
Television
Ryan first appeared on the American soap opera General Hospital as a gay teen Lucas Jones, nephew of this historic supercouple Luke and Laura, (2004-2005). He left GH to appear as Justin, another gay teen on the American series Desperate Housewives, (2004-2006). Other roles included: The Closer "Good Housekeeping" as Austin Phillips (2005); CSI: NY YoungBlood as Nigel Ballantyne (2005); Grand Union as Ricky (unaired pilot by NBC)(2006); CSI: Miami "Bloodline" as Ross Miller (2007); and Doctor Who (DW : Daleks in Manhattan / Evolution of the Daleks) as Laszlo (2007). He also starred in the video for the song Mistake by Australian actress/singer Stephanie McIntosh.
Movies
Ryan Carnes first movie role was that of another gay teen in the movie Eating Out as Marc Everhard (2004). This was followed by a Television movie in 2005 entitled Thicker Than Water as Tim "Ray" Markus. Other movie roles include, Letters from Iwo Jima as Marine at Clearing (2006); Surf School as Tyler (2006); Anderson's Cross as David (2007); Leaving Barstow as Cody (2007); Trailer Park of Terror as Alex (2008); and the upcoming film The Sno Cone Stand Inc. as Sonny (2008).
