Chris Chibnall is a Doctor Who fan who later became a writer for both the series and it's spin-off Torchwood. Chibnall also wrote several episodes of Life On Mars.
Chibnall is a big fan of doctor who and represented part of the Doctor Who Appreciation Socety on the BBC's public opinion show "Points of View" in 1986 criticising the Trial of a Time Lord season and the inconsistent quality of the series. Chris then wrote 8 various episodes of torchwood from seris 1 and 2 and Ironicly, Chinball himself would face fan criticism for many of his Torchwood episodes.
