Story notes
- This is the first story to feature Rose in the capacity of the Doctor's companion since Doomsday.*
- Lucius Petrus Dextrus from The Fires of Pompeii says that "she is returning" when seeing the future. This is most likely a reference to Rose's return in this episode.
- Billie Piper was seen at the end of Partners in Crime, as well as a short cameo in The Poison Sky.
- Chipo Chung was last seen in the episode Utopia as the Malmooth, Chantho. She plays a human character in this story.
- This is the 'Doctor-lite' episode of the series, similar to Love and Monsters and Blink.

Rumours
- Donna has something on her back (referred to in Fire of Pompeii by Lucius) and is a Metebelis spider.
- Since Rose is returning in this episode, then it is may be the beginning of a three part story. Thus Martha Jones, Jack Harkness, Mickey Smith, Jackie Tyler, Sarah Jane Smith, K-9, Davros, Harriet Jones or Dalek Caan could also return in this episode.
- Gwen, Ianto, Rhys or PC Andy could make a cameo appearance, perhaps with Jack before he goes to help the Doctor.
- In Planet of the Ood when Ood Sigma said "your song will end soon" The Ood sang songs craving to be reunited with each other, and the Doctor's song of craving for Rose will end soon so he will be reunited with her once more.
- Rose and the Doctor will never actually meet in this episode. They may be able to see each other, but not be physically in the same place possibly because they are in Bad Wolf Bay. This is unlikely due to the YouTube footage of the Turn Left episode being filmed in Wales. It is more likely that they are in the same place because in Partners in Crime, Rose was shown to be leaning on the police fence.
- In Utopia (TV story) when The Master says "as one door closes another must open" this could be a reference to this episode as one "door" to the Parallel Universe closes (DW:Doomsday) another must open. This does not imply the Master knows about the parallel universe, but it would make a good conicidental remark on the level of early Bad Wolf References.
- Filming footage shows that this was filmed in a warehouse in Wales, with UNIT soldiers trying to arrest Donna, who is being 'guided' to the Doctor by Rose (appearing on TV(?) screens).
- The Daleks might appear in this episode and the next.
- This Episode may start out as Bad Wolf did where the Tenth Doctor and Donna disappear out of the Tardis as the Ninth Doctor and Rose had done before.
- The Doctor will be alerted to Rose's presence by a visible Bad Wolf reference - the thing that links them both together.

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors

Continuity
- In The Sontaran Strategem the Sat Nav kept saying Turn Left. The Doctor is also heard saying Turn Right not Left. This could have something to do with this episode.
- In "Army of Ghosts", Adeola (Freema Aygeman) tells Matt to go to the left when she is under the control of the Cybermens' earpods. This could also have something to do with this episode. In fact the phrase "Turn Left" has appeared numerous times in the revived series - this could have been a plan set in by Russell T Davies from the start.
DVD and Other releases
- This is due to be released in the Series 4 boxset in November 2008 along with the rest of the Series.
