Created for the 1992 novel Love and War, Bernice Summerfield is one of only a handful of characters to have been successfully spun-off from Doctor Who. Born to Clair and Isaac Summerfield on Beta Caprisis in 2540 Benny is a drinker, an archaeologist, and one of the Seventh Doctor's longest serving companions. She has faced off against the Daleks, the Spacefleet, Cybermen, Hoothi and countless others. She's also managed to write a book focusing on one of her specialities, Martians. Read more... ✍
