The Skavengers were a race of technologically advanced augmented creatures that targeted other technologies to plunder and adapt for their own use. They had a uniform identity and had been known to transform captives into their own kind (not dissimilar to Cybermen). They were however susceptible to bright lights that impaired their sensors.
Rory Williams almost underwent a transformation when captured by the Skavengers when they attempted a raid on a Time Gallery on the planet Darathos. (DWA: The Time Gallery)
