Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

Hey, please remember to check what the section of text was before you remove it. The bit you removed on the TARDIS adventure game page was actually the synopsis with a minor change, therefore should have been reverted instead of removed. The Thirteenth Doctor 16:39, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Fan speculation

Please do not add fan speculation to articles. This is against out Manual of Style. There is, however for speculation and it is called The Howling. You can use this to post your speculation. Please remember that we want you to edit this wiki, and you should not discourage because of the removal of this edit. I hope too see you around on this wiki more often. Please contact me if you need me. Thanks. Mini-mitch\talk 18:58, March 25, 2011 (UTC)

Just to add to the above: although you added references, they weren't really in support of your theories. Please make sure any references you add actually contain the content you are suggesting they do. Thank you for your contributions.----Skittles the hog--Talk 19:12, March 25, 2011 (UTC)

Red Links

Please do not removed red links as the pages the link to may be created at a later date. Thanks. Mini-mitch\talk 13:20, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Production errors

Please do not answer production errors, unless you have a sired source. Thanks. 21:07, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

I think something The Doctor said himself is quite valid as a source! Gallifrey102 21:09, April 16, 2011 (UTC)
It's not though. A answer to a production error can also be "answered" by linking to a interview, confidential episode etc that specially answers that problem. The answer would be external, not in the episode itself. Mini-mitch\talk 21:31, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

Forum thread

The thread you created today, Forum:We need a species tab on the homepage, has already been archived, because it was such an obvious necessity, I immediately adopted it. If you have any other suggestions, please put them up on the forums!

No fanfic here, please

The article you created about the Power of the Daleks fan remake has been deleted, in compliance with T:NO FANFIC. If you would like to write articles about fan productions, please consule this page which lists other wikis where such content is allowed.

Huh?

Your latest message on my talk page appears to be the fragment of a thought. Please restate.

Ohhhhhh! Yeah, no. You've misapprehended a distinction we make here at tardis. {{notdwu}} means that something is not canonical, but is nevertheless licensed by the appropriate copyright holders (usually the BBC). This Power of the Daleks nonsense is a pure fan production. As far as I'm aware, it doesn't have the backing of both the BBC and the estate of Terry Nation, which it would need for us to include it on the site. If I'm mistaken in that belief, please post proof on my talk page and we'll go from there. Otherwise, it's just fanfic, and therefore falls foul of T:NO FANFIC.

Please don't upload videos

Please note that T:RVID prohibits the uploading of videos through the RelatedVideos module (that is, the thing on the right column of every page). Although your enthusiasm for uploading videos is appreciated, the RelatedVideos module is still very much in beta, and should be used by admin only. Thanks :)
