Beacon Hill Research Establishment was a Ministry of Technology research centre. It contained a number of radio telescopes. In the 1970s the Master used its radio telescopes firstly to activate a Nestene energy unit and then later to bring the Nestene Consciousness to Earth. Finally, the Nestene Consciousness was flung back into space by "reversing the polarity". (TV: Terror of the Autons)
