Fusion scoop

A fusion scoop is a means of accessing power by scooping the hydrogen from a star's surface. The S.S. Pentallian use fusion scoops as a means of acquiring "cheap fuel". However, by the the 42nd century, fusion scoops have become illegal. (DW: 42)
