Talk:The Flood (The Waters of Mars)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Name

This article would be better titled as "water infection", or something of that sort. Throughout The Waters of Mars, it is referred to as "the infection". The only references to the flood is when the Doctor says "one tiny little filter and then the flood" and "were fighting the flood". We should go with the more popular phrase. This is either virus or infection, probably best to go for water virus and water infection only refers to the effects on a host.--Skittles the hog - talk 10:30, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

That is true, though the official name in Doctor Who books is The Flood so we should keep it at the name the BBC uses. 60.240.111.76 04:32, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
Tag removed. I watched TWOM today, and the Doctor clearly shouts "We're not just fighting the Flood, we're fighting time itself!" MM/Want to talk? 13:05, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

What are your additional sources?

There is a lot of information in this entry which does not appear in the TV episode The Waters of Mars (TV story). If it is being supplemented by a novel or other source of information, this should be noted. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.143.228.74 (talk).

Can you be more specific? Shambala108 19:33, April 19, 2013 (UTC)
Shambala108, I found a transcript of the episode and it turns out that this is a 60 minute episode and BBCAmerica airs 45 minute episodes so there were A LOT of scenes cut out for U.S. viewing. In three examples, we see nothing of Adelaide's talk of her past (mentioning Daleks) that is mentioned in the storyline description. Also, we see the robot opening up the TARDIS and then the base exploding. We do not see the TARDIS appearing at the base and The Doctor and 3 crew members going into the TARDIS. Most importantly, there is also no discussion of "The Flood", a connection with Ice Warriors nor the final scenes that are described where the glacier breaks up and something comes out of it.
This turns out not to be unusual for BBCAmerica to do with episodes running longer than 45 minutes. Before I post on this kind of thing again, I'll see if the TV transcript includes material that U.S. viewers do not get to see.63.143.233.201talk to me 19:47, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
