"Proper" wiki Merges
As an aside, things like Border Princess and Border Princes should be merged properly in order to merge the histories into one place. Have you ever done this before? If not, the process is as follows:
- manually copy the information from the destination to the source article.
- delete the destination article
- move the source article to the destination (this creates the redirect too)
- undelete all deleted revisions of the page
And voila... you're done. You have all of the history from every instance of the article in one location. :) -- Sulfur 15:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Character Toys
Hi, just to let you know since you did the last direct, I think, the page leading to the range of figures is headed Character Group. Well I didn't find it at first, because it is more widely known (in the UK at least), as Character Options (which is a part of Character Group PLC. - a toy and gift company established in Lees. near Manchester in 1991.) It was Character Options that secured the 'Master Toy Licence' from BBC Worldwide in 2005 for the TV series. Most reviews I've read and the packaging, as well as Howes Toybox guides refer to products
from Character Options.
Theres loads more merchandising links to this company so I didn't know if you wanted to rehead the page.
Incidentally just got their interactive Dalek! Soooooooo Cool! The only drawback I've found is the signals conflict if you've got more than one roaming about and they appear to become disobedient, not doing what their told, like naughty children! (Maybe thats where Davros went wrong?!) Ill stop now. The Librarian 01:11, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Myths and rumours
I think it should be case-by-case. I think "rumours" is appropriate if the information given is in fact about rumours that were contemporary with the original broadcast, especially if said rumours were dispelled. A myth is more along the lines of "A munchkin can be seen hanging in the background of a scene in the Wizard of Oz". I don't think every article needs to have the header changed, however if the content of the section sparks the same reaction that I saw which inspired the original discussion -- someone removed some information because "it's a rumor, not a myth" then the header should be changed accordingly. Another important distinction is that rumours are, by their nature, more difficult to source. A myth is in theory easier to find a source for; for example, the myth that Hartnell quit because of the onset of Multiple sclerosis. 23skidoo 14:53, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Admins
Thanks for contacting me about the discussion regarding adminship and removal for inactive admins, it was thoughtful to contact the admins on the active admin list however as I think i mentioned somewhere I only very loosly count as an active admin, not contributing much, but am still contactable which may be the same as some of the admins on the inactive list, so i think if something important comes up it would be at least courteous to give the inactive admins a chance to know whats going on (probably be me soon, and I'd like to be able to help if needed :) ), but yeah I'm just writing to say, well thanks.--GingerM 20:22, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Page move request
I've been working on sorting out the novelisations and novellas pages, in particular adding them to years categories and such. I've also fixed some titling errors along the way. Unfortunately there's one move I can't do because I lack admin ability. The Telos article Eye of the Tyger should be moved to The Eye of the Tyger to reflect the actual title of the book, however the latter title already exists as a redirect back to the incorrect title without the "The" and the system won't let me move it back. Could you please execute the move for me? I'll have set up the categories, etc. to reflect the addition of the "The". Thanks! 23skidoo 23:18, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Related to the above I just added a PROD tag to a category I created called "Non-canonical novels" - I wasn't aware there was already a Non-canonical stories category that covered the same material. 23skidoo 23:25, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Christmas Special
May I start to create a page for the Christmas Special since I know so much about it. I can prove it to you by 4 simple words Cybershades, The Other Doctor, Mrs Harrrigtain and Cybermen! And there is ven a possible rumour of the name 'Ghosts in the Machines' So Please think about my idea because all of those 4 words have ben veriffied by the website Gallfireypost . Thank You for reading this I'm-Not-Drifting-I'm-Waiting 11:45, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok Thank You for the time and I understand what you mean. I am so sorry for wasting your time. But I believe that that inforfamtion is correct because a member of the GarlifferyPost dressed up as a victorian and enter the set undiscovered and got pictures of the Cybershades! Thats what it says on the website!I'm-Not-Drifting-I'm-Waiting 10:24, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
But if we can verified this with GalliferyPost is there a chance we could start up the 2008 Christmas Special because the pictures are not fake and there even videos! I'm-Not-Drifting-I'm-Waiting 14:11, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
There is more than just a trailer it shows footage being filmed and can't we just push the BBC to comfirmed this due to footage alrady being token. Please Can you not put an injuction in to Wikipedia to allow ME AND ONLY ME to work on the 2008 Christmas Special Please I am literally Begging you now! Please think about the injuction Thank you I'm-Not-Drifting-I'm-Waiting 15:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Well May I start a page called Cybershades since they are really monsters! I'm-Not-Drifting-I'm-Waiting 09:56, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Oh Sorry, have u deleted it? --Skittles the hog 17:30, 10 August 2008 (UTC) Ok i see uve deleted it, i thing mine was better though so is there any chance you could bring it back. I know you probably say no but you must realise it is more useful (like what does conjucture mean?) Please --Skittles the hog 17:35, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, it took me ages with the html thingy, that was really kind (and unexpected)--Skittles the hog 17:42, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, er...ive wasted about an hour of my life again. Why? Isnt mine better? The Conjucture one is jst words and not noticeable. Please could we use the other one?--Skittles the hog 18:02, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
So...ur just going to use yours. But shouldnt we be making a presence and user might want to know that its a nickname.--Skittles the hog 18:10, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah but i think a reader would be jsut as intrested in its deletio as to its nickname.--Skittles the hog 18:20, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Most of them are fine. You just seem to go against anything everyone does, why? Sometimes there good like the time you reverted the prebroadcast template back from "Spoilers". Oh well :(--Skittles the hog 12:54, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, thats ok, i suppose what you do is good as this wiki needs focus. Im currently trying to watch specific episodes and then add information and images from youtube if that helps. Sorry if I insulted you.--Skittles the hog 13:06, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Yet another template
Hi, me again, while on wikipedia I found this template and created it here:
It contains several grammatical or factual errors, or otherwise offends our our Manual of Style.
It goes unter the title of the article section that requires atention, seems you didnt like the nickname template I thought Id check it out with you, what do you think? (anyway it can be made smaller?)--Skittles the hog 18:34, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Ive made it longer now rather than wide as you can see above--Skittles the hog 18:45, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Children of Earth
Hi there - I went to start this article for Torchwood series 3, but discovered that you have deleted it. Can I ask what the reason was for deletion. If you were unsure of the source - it was confirmed in Torchwood Magazine (see wiki) - or was it something else? Jack's the man - 18:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
It was DWM--Skittles the hog 16:38, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

BIT Comic Strips
Hi, just came across an edit to Crimes and Punishment...why? We did discuss this and I've recently made my case again to Dark Lord (see talk for BIT10Dr.jpg). I asked for you especially for your input and criticism 'cos I thought you of all people might understand what I was trying to do (and why), and frankly feel a bit 'miffed' that you've gone ahead and changed it anyway without even the courtesy of letting me know. I further feel that the move is clumsy. You've edited down the picture to fit the infobox leaving it grainy and of poor definition and you've taken the picture frame away from beneath the story synopsis.
The visuals weren't just selected to fill the box they were intended to represent ALL the main characters featured in the strip (along with perhaps an integral element to the story). There isn't a easily identifiable single defining image found in every 4 pages of strip due to the somewhat younger approach the strip follows (unlike the vast majority of other 'deeper' strips, or the early strips which were presented in a much more linear/traditional format).
If you (and others) object so much to the infobox picture I used I'd rather see it left blank than lose the picture frame inserted above the characters bit, unless of course someone else thinks they can go through the whole series and find a uniform sized picture for the infobox for each of the BIT strips!!
