Wi-Fi was a method of wirelessly connecting devices to each other or entertainment. It could be used as a method of dispersing energy. It had varying qualities of reception.

In the 50th-51st century, the Library had Wi-Fi. When Evangelista was killed, her data ghost was caught in the Wi-Fi and reconstructed by CAL in her hard drive. The same happened to all archaeologists with Evangelista and River Song, where they lived on forever in the hard drive. This is the last time River Song saw the Doctor; the first time the Doctor saw River, and the only time she ever saw an incarnation of the Doctor apart from the Eleventh.
