The Star Poet was a Butterfly Person known to Sarah Jane Smith.
Profile
The Star Poet arrived on Earth and was lost and so located Sarah Jane Smith, who gave it directions back home to Arcateen 5. In return the Star Poet gave Sarah Jane a communicator with which Sarah could contact her for help with her poetry. Maria Jackson saw Sarah Jane with the Star Poet in her garden. This was the first alien she ever saw. (SJA: Invasion of the Bane).
- The Star Poet apparently belongs to the same species as "Mary", who described herself as originating from the planet Arcateen 5.
Behind the Scenes
Despite a fan myth to the contrary, no on-screen evidence links the Star Poet to Sarah Jane's friend, the un-named alien soothsayer mentioned in Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane? and, later in Journey's End.
