On 5 May, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1995 - After Fox essentially fired Robert deLaurentis on 3 February, Matthew Jacobs was chosen to write the script of the 1996 TV movie. This time, they decided to scrap all previous work and start anew. Within 14 days, Jacobs had a fresh storyline ready.[1]
