Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

User image limit exceeded

Please note you have exceeded your user image limit of 3 images for use on your user page. The oldest of these images will be deleted to bring your image count back within that allowed under out Tardis:User image policy, alternatively you can mark any of your uploaded images with a {{proposed deletion}}. --Tangerineduel 13:19, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Please stop uploading images. Further uploades will be viewed as vandalism in violation of our Tardis:User image policy and you may be blocked upwards of 3 days and your images are deleted back to the 3 user image limit. --Tangerineduel 14:16, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Main page

I've reverted your edits (twice) as your edits continue to present issues for the layout of the main page. --Tangerineduel 11:27, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

List of companions

Hi, before editing main 'list' style pages you may wish to put forth your views on the talk page. As most of the companions and the layout of the article have a (general) consensus. Additionally preview changes thoroughly to ensure edits do not effect usability, functionality and easy readability of article. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:35, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Page deletion

Hiya :) I'm sorry you're distraught about having your work deleted. However, page deletions are common on a wiki. I myself have a ton of work that no longer exists on the wiki. People hit on topics from time to time which are not particularly clear to other people, even though they may seem perfectly obvious to them.

"Sequel" isn't a good word to use in a show about time travel. Is, for example, The Snowmen a sequel to The Web of Fear — or is it the prequel? Depends whom you're talking about. For the Great Intelligence, Snowmen is first. But for the Doctor, it's Web (or even Abominable).

Which came first, Snakedance or Kinda? To the objective view of history, Snakedance. But to Tegan and the Doctor personally, it's Kinda. It's all "wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey".

Truth is, we already have a page that covers much of the same ground, but which uses a much less difficult phrase: story arc

Our pages should be as clear as possible. In my estimation, there was no way to make that article clear, because the concept doesn't of a "sequel" doesn't apply in Doctor Who as it does in other fictions. For that reason, it seemed an uncontroversial candidate for deletion.

Please don't take this deletion to mean that your work is not desired — even needed — here. It's just a little bump in the road.

Infoboxes

Hi! I wanted to direct your attention to a feature of infoboxes, in regard to your edits at The Light at the End. Specifically, the "Doctor" field in story infoboxes. This field can only take one name, no matter how many Doctors take part in the story. The infobox is designed this way and will not be changed. Therefore, we have to "choose" one Doctor, based on prominence in the story, to be the infobox Doctor. The rest have to be placed in the "featuring" field of the infobox. Any page that has multiple Doctors in the Doctor field will be fixed. Thanks! Shambala108 17:23, October 31, 2013 (UTC)
