For simpler reading, our valid sources page mainly concentrates on the guidelines surrounding valid sources. The following list — which is comprehensive but probably not completely exhaustive — is for people who like to look at the world in a more detailed and specific way. Although we may have missed the odd story here, you can probably assume that if a story doesn't appear on this list, it's not a valid source.

Generally no, but stories featuring the so-called "Phoenix Court" version of the character are disallowed. As of 2012, this means that we 'do not cover Marked for Life, Does It Snow?, or Could It Be Magic?.

Short stories Works in the following series: Doctor Who Magazine (which includes but is not limited to the Brief Encounter series and the collection of Virgin New Adventures prequels); Doctor Who K9 and Dalek annuals; Short Trips; Virgin Decalogs; Bernice Summerfield short stories by several publishers; most Iris Wildthyme short stories the four little rules and Iris Wildthyme: should she stay or should she go? Generally no, but the Iris Widthyme short story, Hospitality is disallowed because it uses the "Phoenix Court" version of the character, and the short stories, Old Flames, Furthermore, iris Explains, Entertainint Mr O, In the Sixties, and It's Raining Again are disallowed because they're unofficial stories written for the benefit of charities.
