Aaron Eddowes

Aaron Eddowes attempted to assassinate U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the defeated Confederate States of America, on 9 April 1865. However, he was prevented from doing so by the Fifth Doctor.
When later interviewed in 1895, he claimed to have openly wept when Lincoln was actually killed by John Wilkes Booth. Profoundly impressed that Lincoln had actually saved his life in the aftermath of the failed assassination attempt, Eddowes' anger towards Lincoln immediately subsided. Said the older Eddowes, "I never met a man to match Lincoln". (PROSE: Blood and Hope)
