Edith Thomas was an elderly woman. On 23 November 1963, Edith went to mail a letter when she found her neighbour, Sammy, hiding by the mailbox. Due to his mother suffering to the Shroud, she offered to take care of him in the meantime. With the Eleventh Doctor's insistence, Sammy went with her. (PROSE: Shroud of Sorrow)
