Timeline

Hi, when adding / editing content in the timeline, please do not remove the prefixes to the stories that are listed there. --Tangerineduel 17:15, 26 January 2009 (UTC) What's a prefix --Frogger 2 26 January 2009 (UTC)

You have been warned about removing the prefix and below is guide of prefixes Bigshowbower 09:47, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

DW: for the tv series both classic and new series
TW: for Torchwood
SJA: for the Sarah Jane Adventures
PDA: for the Past Doctor Adventures line of novels

NDA: for the Ninth Doctor Adventures line of novels
TDA: for the Tenth Doctor Adventures line of novels

Also see for a complete list Tardis:List of prefixes.
Additionally I'm curious as to where you are sourcing the placement of the stories? Is it guess work, indications in the individual stories or the Doctor Who Reference Guide? I would caution against solely relying on the DW Ref Guide as several of their placements are arbitrary. --Tangerineduel 11:56, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Righty, but have you actually read the books, novels, etc that you're editing as some of them that you've edited I have and worked out how to place them by how it's mentioned.
I'll also add again that I'd advise against solely relying on one the clivebanks website (as with the DW Ref Guide you should also rely on what you've read in the books, or seen/heard etc). Also as with the DW Ref Guide you shouldn't be copying verbatim what is written on that site. The timeline is tricky and should be written as part of an informed opinion rather than copying from one site or another. Thanks --Tangerineduel 13:21, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Cool will do. --Frogger 2 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Case in point

Just like to add, Time and Relative, this occurs after Frayed, but was published before it (first in fact), however Frayed occurs some where before Susan and the Doctor arrive on Earth '63, Operation Proteus includes direct references and indications that it occurs just about before An Unearthly Child (or there abouts). Therefore it Time and Relative take place before it (various indicators about the Doctor's personality also point towards this placement). Whilst The Exiles takes place sometime before all these stories. --Tangerineduel 13:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
