Joseph Lidster wrote several audio dramas for Big Finish Productions, short stories for Big Finish's Short Trips and Bernice Summerfield ranges and episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures. He has also acted as in several minor roles in many Big Finish audio dramas, and contributed to the Davros Connections documentary.

Lidster has also done much of the writing behind the BBC's in-universe websites tied in to the Doctor Who universe, as well as those for other properties including Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' Sherlock.
