Prometheus was a Chronovore. He mated with the Eternal known as Elektra, an act which was forbidden by the Ancient Covenant, and produced the Chronovore/Eternal hybrid known as Kronos. When this was discovered, the Guardians of Time punished Prometheus by erasing him from existence. However, the child he had fathered was spared. (PROSE: The Quantum Archangel)
Behind the scenes
In Greek mythology, Prometheus was a Titan who was the nephew of Kronos and was responsible for giving fire to humanity against the orders of Zeus. It is speculated that the Chronovore and the one in the Greek myth are both based on the same thing.
