Thomas Walsingham

Thomas Walsingham was the cousin of Francis Walsingham, who ran the network of spies that protected Elizabeth I from Catholic plots. He took over the network after his cousin died. Among his agents were half the playwrights in London, including William Shakespeare and Ben Jonson. (PROSE: The Empire of Glass)
