Talk:The Dalek Invasion of Earth (TV story)
2164
The year is 2164. I don't care how long the callender was there for - or that it is unlightly that callenders would be produced. Ever heard of a Logic error? - It wouldn't be the first. It was released in 1964, so they obviously kept the 64 for the setting. Jack's the man 14:06, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
2,000,000 Years
The doctor says that the daleks were destroyed on skaro about 1,000,000 years in the future, and 2164 is about the middle history of the daleks, wich would mean the daleks were already around for 1,000,000 years prior to 2164. So the daleks were around for about 2,000,000 years! Well they didn't change much in that time did they! Anyway, this is hugely inconsistent as on Skaro they were still experiencing the nuclear fallout that mutated the daleks in the first place. So if the events on skaro from The Daleks happened a million years in the future, and the daleks hadn't long been mutated then, how can they be invading earth a million years earlier? Even if the doctor was speaking figuratively, and only meant 10,000 years, it's still way off, isn't it? Stormyharbour 19:35, November 22, 2010 (UTC)
It's an exageration. Not literally "a million years", but rather "a long time". In fact it's less than 400 years! (See "Planet of the Daleks" for more).
Question: audiobook missing?
With the 50th anniversary, BBC4 broadcast the audiobook version of The Dalek Invasion of Earth "Read by William Russell, who played Ian Chesterton in the original television serial on which this reading is based." Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03hy5vh/episodes/guide It's not mentioned anywhere - yet. Where should this link go? --IrasCignavojo ☎ 15:55, November 28, 2013 (UTC)
In the scene where Barbara rams a group of Daleks, I think the view of the Daleks shows them in the city square, not in a back road Barbara is driving on.
Setting
Per The Daleks' Master Plan, the Daleks invaded in 2157. It's mentioned in The Dalek Invasion of Earth was ten years ago, so should the setting not be changed to "circa 2167" instead? It would be consistent with the calendar having not been touched for some time. -- Saxon (✉️) 12:22, November 27, 2019 (UTC)
