Series Placing
Is there any reason this story is considered a part of series 9, rather than series 8? Considering when it was produced/when it aired/how it deals with the narrative threads left hanging from series 8, I'd say it was the last story of that series, as opposed to the first story of the next one. - I thought that might be the case, but I can't actually find any evidence that it was produced as part of series 9 rather than 8. Considering it was filmed September-October 2014, and filming for on series 9 only started in January 2015, I would presume it was considered part of series 8's production blocks. - Ever since 2012, production "seasons" have gone out of the window. This matter was discussed at Thread:180640, and we came to the conclusion that home video releases would form the basis of how we construed "seasons" following the end of production code use.
