Nettles was an old friend of Iris Wildthyme. He asked Iris why she was kneeling over a dead body. He asked Iris and Panda to help investigate the murders. He was a shapeshifting Crobian and conducted the murders he was investiagating as he could split in two. (AUDIO: Midwinter Murders)
