The Vaslovian system contained a single Earth colony. It was primarily a farming community, with insects the size of a human fist.
During the Orion War, the Androids launched an unexpected attack on the colony, killing the entire population. The attack was designed to destroy Earth's will to fight them. However, this (due to the death of her parents) and other similar attacks pushed President Karen Brett to allying with the Cybermen against the Android Horde. (AUDIO: Scorpius)
