Spelling / Rename

Where did the spelling of this character's name come from in the first place? As the rename tag asks if it's not given in the dialogue...where did the name come from and the spelling of it?

As the nature of this story deals with the deals with the land of fiction, all of the characters come from storys, it is said many times that this is Alice Lydell from the Lewis Caroll novels Alice in Wonderland, and Alice through the Looking glass, to the point when she becomes Mistress of the Land of fiction she says '"with the stain of the cybermen wiped from its pages the land of fiction began to grow again becoming something quite quite different a wonderland with me as its misstress, its queen of hearts"'. I may have made a mistake in writting her last name as I thought that is how it is spelt in the book as I haven't read the book since the age of 10. AdricLovesNyssa 20:42, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

This needs to be renamed. According to the CD of Legend of the Cybermen, her name is spelled 'Liddell.'

Rename - Take 2

The real Alice Liddell who inspired the fictional Alice Liddel appears in The Wildthyme Effect. I am of the opinion that that Alice Liddell should remain undisambiguated for the same reason Heather is.

But what should this page be renamed to? Apparently "Liddell" included in the cast-list for Legend of the Cybermen, but I think Alice (Legend of the Cyberman) or Alice (fictional character) are simply not easily identifiable as Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Even Alice Liddell (Legend of the Cyberman) does not easily indicate "Alice in Wonderland" to anyone unfamiliar with Legend of the Cybermen. Alice Liddell (fictional character) seems the best choice to me. Or maybe Alice Liddell (Land of Fiction), but that might prevent edits concerning general references to the character.

Come to think of it, The Wildthyme Effect might provide an in-universe source as to "Liddell" being fictional Alice's last name... I'll look into it. CoT ? 20:22, May 9, 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for the extended explanation. Curiouser and curiouser! I definitely need to think about it. And yes the in-universe confirmation of primality of RW Alice would make deliberations simpler. And yes, you are right, the names should be chosen so that referencing the fictional Alice is not too counterintuitive. Amorkuz 21:23, May 9, 2017 (UTC)
Sorry about it. In the end, I looked at the pages where Alice is mentioned in passing. And that is definition not the one from the Land of Fiction. I'll also chip in. Amorkuz 19:42, May 12, 2017 (UTC)
