Gavotte

Gavotte was a dance on Earth popularized in the court of French King Louis XIV. Considered a romantic dance, it often ended with the partners kissing or the male presenting flowers.

The First Doctor danced a gavotte with Jane Austen in the 19th century London. (AUDIO: Frostfire)

During a visit to Blackpool in the 2080s, the Twelfth Doctor is challenged by Clara Oswald as to whether he knows how to dance. To her amusement, they proceed to dance a gavotte. (PROSE: All the Empty Towers)
