Ruth Baxter was Doland's lab assistant. In 2986, she was exposed to a virulent form of plant DNA which caused her to begin mutating into a human/plant hybrid. Professor Sarah Lasky, Bruchner and Doland secretly brought her aboard the Hyperion III, hoping to get to Earth and find a cure for her there. She was killed by the Vervoids.
