Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

Vandalism and other things

Hurrah! Makes me happy that it was all worked out without the big scary Admin coming in! Just thought I'd add a little something though (as I can't help but meddle!). As the user was a new user (or even if not) to tell them specifically why it's vandalism point them towards either the Tardis:Manual of style or the more specific Tardis:Layout guide (which is more of a kick off page), the Tardis:Format for Television Story Entries lays out exactly what's in a TV story page and includes a description of what the Discontinuity section is. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 13:55, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

K9 Mark IV

--TheYoungDoctor 12:10, October 28, 2009 (UTC) K9 Mark IV is only mentioned in Interference and is not actually given to Sarah Jane.

Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks

For Frontier, as there's been an edit in between the user who added the copied text and what it used to be the easiest way to remove the info is to go to the page's history and find the last un-edited version of (in this case) the synopsis and plot and copy it into the current revision of the article (which is what I've just done).

As for Planet of the Daleks, as stated on the manual of style (Tardis:Manual of style#Use of material from Wikipedia) it is preferable not to copy/rely on wikipedia for information in order to create a unique encyclopedia here. As you've done some work to make the plot usable I thought I'd mention it rather than just removing the plot. As it still resembles the wikipedia plot however the page will need to have a Template:Wikipedia added to the bottom of the article (just under the season templates and everything specifically it would look like this if added: {{wikipedia|Planet of the Daleks}}. Which states that some content has come from wikipedia. --Tangerineduel 14:04, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
