The Night Walkers was the story which actually depicted the regeneration of the Second Doctor, generally assumed by fans to take place immediately before the Third Doctor's first televised scene in [[Spearhead from Space (TV story)|]]. It concluded a run of late 1969 TV Comic stories that showed the Second Doctor living in Time Lord-enforced exile in London for a few months prior to becoming the Third Doctor. Much of the story stressed how he had actually become a celebrity and was appearing on a television game show when the Time Lords finally caught up with him.
