Ed Gold was second in command at Bowie Base One. He was herioc and a bit of a rebel. When The Flood attacked Bowie Base One he witnessed several members in his crew get taken over. When the Doctor was taken into the Base he thought he was the culperate. He was later proved wrong. He was ordered by his Captain, Adelaide Brooke to evacuate. He was told to initialize the rocket for take off, but when the infected Maggie Cain entered infecting him by shooting water up the shaft to the cockpit, he closed area but the water got through, so he caused the rocket to selfdestruct as he transformed into the flood, saving earth, yet leaving everyone else stranded and destroying part of Bowie Base One.
