The Saviour was an alien who lived under the Ferret in Radyr. Mandy Aibiston told him about Ianto Jones's life. He was able to open the rift to send people to any planet in the universe or any time in the past. Jack Harkness knew that his race were slave traders. Ianto forced him to go through the portal.
