The Twenty Seventh Armoured Brigade took part in Operation Overlord, also known as D-Day, during the Second World War. Kenneth James Valentine was a member of the Twenty Seventh Armoured Brigade who took part in the Normandy landings on Sword Beach where he was injured. As a result, he was shipped back to Britain where he spent the remainder of the war convalescing. (PROSE: Trace Memory)
