Talk:The Descendants of Pompeii (webcast)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The statement that "An unspecified incarnation of the Doctor was revealed in a twist ending to have been silently watching the entire video call" is an assumption. It isn't actually revealed. Yes, it's the assumption that the story is leading you towards, but it isn't explicit. There is room for manoeuvre. Who knows? It could be any number of the Doctor's enemies fishing for information! 109.149.158.122talk to me 00:27, May 19, 2020 (UTC)

The use of the Doctor's theme on the soundtrack rather suggests that it's the Doctor. In terms of basic literacy from a RW perspective, I think it's clear that the Doctor is featured in this story. Whether we recognise that fact as valid in-universe is another matter, but the statement of which you speak is from an out-of-universe section. --Scrooge MacDuck 00:39, May 19, 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. That's a reasonable explanation which could be used within the article. I'm not a regular here, so I'll leave it to those that are, but it'd be a useful point to make. Sorry, I don't know what 'RW' means. Would you mind elaborating? Whether these Lockdown episodes are canon is a really interesting point. Is that discussion being had anywhere? 109.149.158.122talk to me 03:47, May 19, 2020 (UTC)
RW = Real World. As for canon, Doctor Who has no canon, as is the official policy of this wiki. Whether these episodes are valid, that is, whether they're considered sources this wiki uses for in universe articles, is indeed being discussed. Currently the issue seems to be rule 1, as there are conflicting reports as to whether or not these stories are licensed. Najawin 04:32, May 19, 2020 (UTC)
(That's Rule 2, actually. Rule 1 is whether a story is licensed.)
