An interdimensional entity was trapped within its own alternate timeline but wanted to escape. It crossed into another reality and used Peter Meier's body as its proper form.
When the Fifth Doctor arrived after detecting a temporal anomaly, the entity was soon unmasked and sent away, allowing the original Peter to escape. (AUDIO: Ghost Station)
